The White Truck, my ‘03 LB7 Tow Rig

Pretty sure I’ve narrowed it down to the fuel injector control module. Plenty of cranking fuel pressure, and I was tracking down an intermittent short that I thought might be downstream of the small injector driver plug for cylinders 3, 5, 8, and 2 when the fuse stopped popping.

Now I have consistent power to the module, but the truck still won’t start.

With some internet guidance, I found where the main engine ground (big strap on the back of the driver side head) had made incidental contact to the low pressure fuel lines.

The marks aren't just witness marks from rubbing, but you can see where they are tiny little arc strikes. I guess if that happens for 23 years and 170,000 miles, it'll smoke the FICM. Moved the strap. Tried to fire. No joy.

Ordered a rebuilt FICM. I think I'll use the lead time to install the downpipe, up-pipes, and driver side manifold. Can't bring my mind to switch back to the Charger while this sits dead.

Went to the warehouse and got my box of Duramax fun parts. I’ve had these for a little while, and I’ve just been waiting for the opportunity to put them in.

I actually bought that BD manifold as a Father’s Day gift for my dad over a decade ago. He just never installed it.

Put some dang tow mirrors on that thing!
I think I finally found some that I like.

I have power fold mirrors now and they’ve been super handy. These are the only ones I’ve found that offer that option in a tow mirror.

I'll be doing 600+ miles per day for 3 days straight. I hope you were going a lot faster than me. I'll be covering about 5000 miles in 2.5 weeks. I was absolutely done driving about 2 hours before we got to our campsite yesterday, but had to keep driving.

My days of long distance driving are long gone but I did crazy miles per day averaging 1200 miles per day.
CA to NY in 52 hours straight.
The last long trip I did was taking the Heath's blazer to @Truckman4life in Utah dropping it and burning back to CA total time 28 hours.
I burned out my body.
I took my daughter down to socal on Monday, 450 miles each way, I did each way in one day, don’t want to push myself anymore

We’re running the Rubicon and get to South Tahoe tomorrow for staging with the rest of the group. Afterward, we’ll leave out and head east to Salt Lake and then over to ORD.

I am guessing you go in and out from the Tahoe side?
I will be in Georgetown not far from loon lake, it would have been nice to meet up if you came out there
