There is no way someone has a bid in for this truck for this much...

if anybody want to pay 27k for it, i'll gladly go check it out. ha ha.
Regardless, go check it out anyways.

Check to see what race or origin the seller is. Feed him a line like those emails we all get from scammers.

You guys are just pissed he got the jump on you......Do you have any idea how ultra rare the 305 engine option in that year truck is?

I could care less about that POS.

I have something that the seller does not. And what I have is a lot more highly desirable and sought after than his little truck.

I'm just throwing this out there.. but what's with the y***e username? I've been outbid now on various things by a bunch of usernames with a random letter on each of ***, and I'm sort of wondering if people are using them to bump their bids

Either that or eGhey has changed something since I last used it..

Nevermind, my brother just let me know they changed it..
:doah:

This is what a 83 motor compartment looks like with "LOW" miles , and many stock things intact , of course its not all there by then . Mine with a little over 110,000 at the time these were taken . Rene is right , lots of seal sealer on the firewall .

They missed the clip on the firewall near the top center that holds the hose across the lower portion of the fusible link junction . It should NOT droop below the junction LOL

I do give him kudus for hooking up his tip in switch , probably has the ESC hooked up , and that means its a 305 H and matches the VIN . My tip in switch is just there but not hooked up to vacuum , I have old HEI . I have extra a/c wires too :)

Why they would do that truck up with all that stock crap and not have a/c is beyond me . Who the hell wants something that ain't a Silverado :dunno:

Its a beautiful truck, but highly doubt he will get anything near it.

I have seen trucks go up on craigslist for 2500 and drop to 1500 within a 2 week span.

Expect a similar event to occur here.

I was pretty sure that GM quit using wood beds in 1980 or '81, are stepsides different?

As far as I know wood bed floor was an option for all stepsides up until 87.

Buffblazer, I think pauly383 meant for the classic value of the truck.
Kinda like a chevelle, why restore a malibu when you could restore a SS . If your going to have a nice classic truck it might as well be a silverado with all the options because they are not rare. Maybe a bit less around but not rare like a SS chevelle.

Of course we (all of us on this site) see the wheeling potential and not the fancy stuff so much.

That's a rather sweeping statement...I tend to be in the minority, one who promotes preservation of our rigs in their stock form whenever possible...in other words...if it's in nice original shape, don't beat the piss out of it, save it! There are plenty of beater trucks around for wheeling.

well i understand that, but i was thinking that sometimes its hard to find a unmolested truck that old nowadays and sometimes you gotta just take what you can get.

not everyone holds a fully loaded one as a value truck, im eventually gonna restore my 86, but its a cheepo custom deluxe, dosent even have air, but that doesnt mean its still not gonna be worth something one day,

in this situation they probably had a low miles truck that didnt need much work to restore, and looked at it as, most people (but not all) look at the outside and how the inside look and could care less what size motor it has or if it has power windows or locks, to find a silverado to restore could have taken forever and lots of money. when this was a easy low budget restore.

its all personal prefrence, i see what your saying but look at it this way, if you have a fully loaded 86 k5 or a 86 k5 basic with a 4speed, in 30 years which one is gonna be worth more? the common one? or the rare one even thought it dont have all the bells and whistles

oh and in no way am i saying this truck is rare, like everyone pointed out it has the same common features as most. i was just using the above as an example.
