Things to fix or upgrade for next year

1 bead locks...working with Kert on them
2 hydro assist...ditto.
3 another leaf or two to the rear pack....pretty much on the bumps after the
springs have settled in the rear.
4 need to find out what the rattling noise is in the rear output of the 205???
5 make better tiedown anchors for rear compartment...roll cage tubing as a
tiedown don't hold well enough.
6 tube doors...hmmm?
7 increase seat height by an inch or two to increase visibility

Cass wants her own rig too, especially after driving hells. She will prob get my left over axles from the sonoma and have jason paule build me a basic tube shell to start with.

In all reality for recreational use I do wish I had the old buggy back. Single 2.5" coilover at each corner, air bump, basic 4 link rear three link front. Tired old 350 and a front mount radiator.

I can drive faster over rough terrain now but to do that safely anymore you have to be on race course during a race to use it. My old buggy layout was able to go faster on rough roads than I should have been driving, handled surprises well with the air bumps and worked very well in the rocks. It was generally quiet and user freindly.

Now I get to listen to loud exhaust, a big assed fan on the radiator right behind my head, I have electrical crap hanging all over that has uses just not in recreation and I ran all of Moab worrying about ruining high dollar lights on the roof. BUT it looks cool doing it. :haha:

I'm working on plans for a recreational buggy that gets back to about 90% of what I had with a few things tweaked that I have learned the last few years. But it will be a single Coilover at each corner with air bumps, front radiator, nice power but with quiet exhaust and have 4 seats and a built in cooler. :pimp:

Goal is for a nice comfortable family rig that doesn't need a lot of up keep and if I get stupid it will take it and laugh.

I remember when that fan was out front (maybe not exactly the fan on there now) I could hear you coming down the trail before seeing you. :D

That was just a little baby fan compared to what's on there now:doah:

I need to fix my K5 like this too. Problem is Wally isn't broken and doesn't work bad enough to really get motivated to build from scratch.

The UAK2500 needs some more uptravel in the front end but I don't want to raise it so I'm not sure what to do there. Shock valving will help keep it from bottoming but it's still hard to soak up all the square terrain with 4.5" of up-travel. The wind noise off the B-pillar is pretty annoying on the interstate. We could spend some time organizing tools and build some dedicated boxes and pick up some cargo space and maybe be able to put the fridge in the bed instead of blocking the rear window. I feel like I'm whining now. Boo hoo, the fridge is in the way on the trail.

1-Make some money
2-Tranny build
3-Make back mo money
4-..... Paint/body work or 2"lift You decide:thumb:

Do the lift first, wheel it. then see what body work you have to do:rolleyes:

I myself have to get something to take out there (dont see the burb doing it and cant afford anything else so...) Looks like I'll be trying to ride along with someone:doah:

D60 in process of being re-built
14B torn down and ready to be re-built
Doubler - have 203 and 205. Need to order adaptors and shafts
Hydro assist
new shocks
shackle flip?
Hope to have the axles, doubler, and hydro assist in by the end of the year.

True but you know I don't wheel except for the dunes. Also I forgot to mention rip out interior, cut out bad sheetmetal and weld in new, and install all new carpet

nothing wrong with a burb in moab. my 88 did the spike twice with 3" of lift and 35's. plus lots of other fun stuff down there.

I really want to take the burb out there. but I have 33"s, no traction aids, and a very extremely pristine body that I'm afraid to damage. not to mention fiberglass running boards:D It still might carry me there though so I can do a little light wheelin and find someone to ride with for the COOL stuff. Oh,, and cause it was originally bought and titled in that area, and stayed there its whole life till last june(2010).

We offer trails you can run in your burb. They just don't get all the attention that the harder trails get. There are tons of trails around Moab suitable for any stock four wheel drive.

I guess I need to start saving for gas then:thinking::waytogo:

D60 being Built hopefully done by then
Cage MAybe???
New Tube Doors
Possiby Engine Upgrade.
And Maybe one day before or after suspension Redo
The last advise I got from someone in the know.... Put the Next 500.00 in the Tank so... Thats what Im gonna do.

Hydro assist is a must... Same with some proper air bumps and limit straps. Out back I need to ditch the blocks and install a proper rear bumper. For the engine, I need to ditch the GM-5 and upgrade to a GM-8 with a mechanical waste gate controller. I'd also like to upgrade to OBDII and chip it a bit. I would like to install a roll cage inside as well. I don't plan on using it, but I want it there if I need it.

Oh, and I also need to re-install the AC ;)

That said, I may be building a truggy similar to Horton to run next go around...
