Folding the seats down and being able to throw a full size mattress back there to go camping.

your turn.....

After our cruise this summer, we piled 7 family members into the Suburban after packing ALL of our bags (they were not a few in number) into the cargo bay, and drove 20 miles to the airport (so I could fly back to Alaska) in 90+ heat and humidity in Seattle, and were comfortable the whole way.

Or the time we were coming home from Utah in a snowstorm with 8 people in the rig, 4x4, passing cars and minivans and even Sequoias and Exipeditions. That thing is unstoppable.

I can go on, but I'll give someone else a chance.

I like having enough room to put bags in the back, let my daughter have the middle row and my son the back row. That gives them enough room to spread out toys and books and video games without arguing the whole way through a crosscountry trip.:D I just remember travelling with my parents and sister in a Cutlass 2dr. "He's on my side! Mom, make him move over!":doah:

Thats what we did. the "way back" was my territory. :D

My Darling Bride and I can live in it when SHTF!

It hauls me & my gear, people, it's roomy and comfy. It's a great tow vehicle. It will run over your average dumba$$ in a 4 wheeler when they get stupid.

Mine is so ugly the idiots do give a second thought to cutting me off.

yep, this is always nice. I can't count the times someone starts to change lanes into my burb and the look on there face when they realize it is awesome. I just smile and wave as they jerk the wheel back over:D

I'm going to post the oppisite, the over hang is to long :D

and I hate that my interior is so nice, makes it harder to decide to cut up

My wife, baby and I being able to sleep in the back when we go camping! Living in bear country sleeping in a tent isn't what I call fun so being able to keep dry, safe and toasty in the back of the 'Burb is a beautiful thing.

Ease of maintenance. I did the minivan thing for awhile. Never again. I dont need a jack to get underneath. I dont need to pull the exhaust to change spark plugs. I can fit as many carseats as I want and still be safe.

Downside (well not really but it deserves a mention): most newer parking lots are for small cars. I end up parking in the south 40 unless I want door dings and broken mirrors. Fine for exercise unless its raining cats and dogs. I hate taking a shower with my clothes on.

Being able to haul a boat load of drunks.

Martin

+1 on this. But more often than not, being in teh suburban seems to create more drunks. My roommates refuse to go over about 10 min in my burb without bringing beer.

we took some kids from church to busch gardens a couple of years back. Wore their lil hinys out, laid em out like cord wood in the back. They slept all the way home.

Hauled the sound gear for the church when we'd go play...I can't see myself without one anymore. They are handier than a pocket on a shirt. :D

My mom, dad, wife, baby and I went to Butte Mt., (220 miles west of here) in a rented 2009 Suburban and I wasn't all that impressed. It seems to me like they down-sized the interiors on the newer ones just a little. My wife and I were crammed in the back seat and our heads just cleared the roof. It got excellent mileage and ran like a top, but it just didn't blow my skirt up as far as comfort goes.

Give me a 1973-91 Sub and I'm a happy man. My 88 Sub just seems to be a little roomier than newer ones and even though it doesn't get nearly as good as mileage as an 09 model, at least I can work on mine and I'm not about to cry if I scratch it.

best of all my wife thinks both my paper weights are sexy

she says
my 89 v3500 that truck is "macho"
the 91 1 ton burb is the sexy 1(my wife and daughters stole it since it was 1/2 ton on day 1)

now if i could just get them to go camping :doah::o

same here. something about the size makes them think they are in a rolling bar rather than a vehicle lol

People get out of your way in traffic/ parking lots...

Lots of room

stable on the highway in snow and ice
