3/4 ton axle set with junk wheels/tires on it, a tailgate and a hardtop? and id be jamming it in a 99 silverado 1500 4.8l with 160k miles, on it haha. think she'll be okay?

No sweat. I have hauled way heavier than that in the dodge. It's a half ton w/318. It didn't struggle more than usual.

i would think it be just fine, you will run out of space, you wont overload it,just hauled 1300lbs. of scrap iron in a 86 toyota longbed with no problem

Yeah, your issues will be volume and fitment, not weight. Chain for the axles, and bring some good ratcheting straps *and* some mid-sized C-clamps to hold the hardtop onto the bed, then the other stuff can go underneath. Try and keep the tailgate vertical as the glass will be less likely to shatter in that orientation. (Or if it's a pickup tailgate, just strap it down so that it doesn't flop around and get dented.)

Hehe I put a yard of stone in one of them one time. Came back with a knock :doah:

Tried telling my dad to just pay for delivery but he dont listen...

my first 86 toyota was a 1 ton, well i thew a yard of gravel in that, well it made the 8 mile trip home, told myself never again, bit too much,no damage though,1 yard of gravei is 3200-3500lbs.

I hauled 3 sets of matching M1008 axles in the back of a regular cab SWB Dodge 4x4 900 miles home from Texas with oil dripping out of one axle which was upside down and leaking all the way home. :D

Best way to haul a top is a trailer if you can find one. The windows always seem to get busted when put in the back of a pickup

The top can go sideways on most any pickup bed (in this case, that's a Tundra with a black hardtop across its bedrails.)

But you might bring along a coupla 8' 2x4's Just In Case.
