Seems like it would be a blast, I think going fast is going to be more fun than going out in my suburban. I'll still have the suburban while I build this though.

The basic plan is to shorten my crew cab frame to about the wheel base of a short bed, around 110". I'll box the frame where it kicks up in the front so I don't have to worry about that.

I want to do an ls1, maybe a little head work and a cam, nothing too crazy, I want to keep the EFI. Seems like the cheapest way to do EFI

For suspension, I was thinking 56" in the front and 63" in the rear, leaves seems like it would just be simpler. Then what ever fancy shocks I can find. Maybe some air bumps also

For steering, I'm thinking about either, regular crossover with no assist, or full hydro, then is the part that I'm not sure about. I think the regular steering would feel better all around. I don't think the hydro assist will react fast enough.

1 ton axles, hopefully around 4500 pounds

This is all for now, just thinking outloud, time to sleep

Basically I want to copy this, I think his name is greenie k30 on here

Adding crossmembers and tying tubing from your cage into your frame are much more effective than boxing the frame. Your chassis needs to be tied together much better than the one pictured.

What size tire? I'm betting you'll want full hydro.

Yeah for sure, that truck wouldn't pass tech, I was only going to box about 3-4' of the frame.

I'm not sure on the tire size, if I don't do the ls1 swap I would qualify for class A which is a max tire size of 35". Otherwise, I'm not sure

Maybe mechanical with hydro assist will work, the jeep that won the stock class at KOH had hydro assist. I wonder if the steering reacts faster when you actually port the holes in the box instead of the caps.

I've never driver a vehicle with full hydro, but I can't imagine giving any steering wheel feedback. I suppose I could do the assist, and depending whether I run bigger or smaller tires cap off the ports and take the cylinder on and off.

I'll definitely do a track bar if I have a mechanical linkage

Class a seems like a lot of fun, of all the youtube videos I watched there was only one full size. It was a short box and did okay, I think a k5 wheel base would do good on those courses.
