For $30k you could drop it at a shop and do the whole wallet-job thing. Half that really. I'm not being totally serious, because I caved and got a new vehicle recently, but it does seem like it could be done. Part of my motivation was to get an easy family hauler too. K5 can't do that in a way that suits the wife.![]()
This always seems to look good on paper.
But, doubt anyone would loan on it.
Plus, you'll still have a really nice project. You can make it reliable, but it will never require as little effort/attention/upkeep as a new ride.
I love my burb, but recently stepped my DD out of project vehicle category.
There are only so many hours in the day.....
