Wasilla AK,
Been seriously thinking about buying a "pre-built" rig for Blazer Bash next year something cheap I can fly in wheel the mild stuff and fly home.

I'm thinking 3/4 tons 35" to 37" rubber nothing excotic just something to get out and have fun with out spending 2 weeks of drive time from AK, or spending a month in NM or MN to put together a rig from my pile of parts.

I'd probally just sell it when I was done or put it in storage in Moab ( if thats the case I'd want a 6.2 so my fuel does'nt go bad as quickly)

Any thoughts?? my budget would be between 3000-5000

Hmmm just finance me some cash man and you can use mine, whenever you want:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Which you can anyway but it may take me a bit to build it

I do have some 4.56 axles for it right now but going to leave it open and with the 35s

I appreciate it Eric, But I think I need my own I'd feel horrible if I broke something our flopped it on its side.

I'd really to get a M1008 and throw some H1's and crossover steering with Hydro-assist and 56" front springs and a lockrite . and maybe try out one of those champion winches

I do have a spare body ya know, lemme know if you need help finding a rig, I could even do the mods and do like we had planned this year meet ya in salt lake etc.

cool maybe we could work something out!!. I still want to fly you up sometime this winter to help me lay out the 4link on my buggy

I know where one is Gus. Appears to be in good shape. Its my girlfriends dads. He has just plowed with it over the years. I believe its all converted to 12volts. 67000 miles. Pm me on AK4X4 if youre interested.

Now that's an adventure man! Fly 3000 miles, hop into a truck sight unseen and take it wheeling in Moab :D Awesome!

I fully intend to wheel in the same group as you, could be fun! Just ask the other fellas how handy a Canadian can be :D

LOL thats how I roll homie!!

don't worry my toolbag will be my checked luggage

Don't bother...

I weighed my Hoe with and without the goodies in it... Empty she weights in at a healthy 6850 lbs, with the tools loaded up I rang in at a blistering 7700 lbs, LOL

LOL its a chevy man I'll I need is a 9/16's a 1/2" and some bailing wire

I'll have tons of that along, LOL

I had almost everything I could possibly think of needing with me, plus everything that I could think of that someone else may benefit from... I am going to build a rat pack into the back of the Tahoe and I'll be a bit more selective for what I carry with me next go around... I'm thinking I can leave most of the engine rebuilding / gear setting tools etc at home this time :P

Well I just want a near stock rig nothing real exotic, I really just want to run the mild trails. for the hardcore stuff I'll see if I can ride shotgun in a real rig and pull winch cable/spotter duty

I had plans to build my K5 into a knarly beast to run Pritchette on next year, but I am kinda thinking the same way as you now that I've sold it...

I'd like to run the Trifecta again, but slowly this time so I can see the sights and get some nifty pictures of my truck! As much fun as offroad ambulance is, I hope the opportunity doesn't come up again...

I'd also like to run Kane's Creek and Behind the Rocks, perhaps get in on a few more of the easy runs to just go out and enjoy driving :D

Yeah as much fun as the Hardcore stuff is I really can't break loose the time and money to build a rig that will standup to that level of abuse .especially if its only once a year . and honestly if I cant get a rig I'll just rent a jeep in Moab and take lots of pics of everybody else

Hey!! welcome to CK5 man :waytogo:

My brother is selling his diesel Blazer needs some work now that he cut the body off but it has all the good parts 60,14bolt, doubler, 6.2 diesel with a turbo has lockers front and rear.

Something like that would be good if the price was right, I'm just kinda talking out loud right now , as my funds are tied up in my current super secret squirrel project. I'll be seriously looking after the holidays

Don't forget that Eric has a good K5 tub sitting at his place... Wouldn't take much to put it on a rolling chassis!

Heck, if the Alaska trip doesn't pan out this year, I may have to drive down a little bit early to help assemble the thing :D
