**EDIT: Final chops of green and brown in post #35**

and doing it right this time. buddy's got full access to paint equipment, so here's some chops of possible colors. i'm not really interested in painting it orange, but thought the pic turned out kind of neat so i posted the pic. the truck looks a bit different than this now - but you get the idea. once i decide on a couple colors, i'll do a bit better than a 2 minute color chop and really make it look like what i'd like to see - play around with two tone colors and so on. ok - what do y'all like??

Something like a brown metalic look and the black top. Can't go wrong with a sweet brown color. The black top looks great with the wheels.

I got to go with the green with black top. Although I see that olive drab is missing from the list :doah:

well, the green i want would be a bit darker than i've done it there. i like the green and the brown the best, i think. and i prefer the white top... i think. i'm also thinking of doing the bottom portion in black bed liner. i have integral body/sliders and thought it would be killer in black bedliner. now that i think about it, if it's got the black on the bottom too, the black top will probably look much better... back to photoshop i'll go. :)

ok, here's the brown. i couldn't do it and make it look good/natural, but you get the idea. now, i've cut my body up, so minus about 4 inches of sheet metal on the bottom and match the color to my wheels and you get the idea. :) i'm trying to think of perhaps lining the top of the bedliner section with some trim color...

and here's the green.

oh man... i like them both. maybe i'll do one side one way and the other side the other. :haha:

this summer i'm going to probably chop the top and make it full convertable, build a cage and build my own soft top for it... :D

just curious...why is there no option for painting the top the same color as the the rest of the body? that's how mine is...all charcoal gray...and I've always like it that way. but like I said...I was just curious...nothing wrong with the black or white ones either. as for the choices you gave...I gotta go with the green, although I can't decide if I like the black or white top better? I think I gotta say the white...just because it kinda contrasts with the black wheels, makes them stand out more.

I like the brown and black as well. Although I hope you left that nice dent in the drivers side door, it adds character.

oh, just because i tend to not care much for the matching color tops. my hope is that by the time i'm painting this summer, it'll be a full convertable and the soft top i'm going to build will be a black canvas-type fabric.

I have photoshop too. HOW do you change the color like that???
i selected just the body of the truck and then went to "enhance" and then under one of those options i used an option like enhance color or something like that... i've got a really slow computer, so the next time i open the program up i'lll ook up the actual words. anyway, then you can adjust how much red/blue/green are used as well as the lightness/darkness and saturation. ;)

well, that door is no longer on my rig... i had a disagreement with a douglas fir. :) the replacement is actually pretty close to the green color you see here - off of a 73 or 74 pickup.

The solid green with black top is sweet. It would be just about perfect slightly darker. IMO, if you decide to go poop color at least make it metallic so you have sparkly poop. :haha:
