Thinking about purchasing 04 Tahoe EDIT: purchased!!

The '03 Yukon that we parted was a short one with the air shocks. The compressor is mounted in the left rear, behind the tire. It did have the label in the SLT badges.
The '04 Escalade had the dual piston calipers on the rear, but didn't have the larger front brakes. I believe that came along in '05. I don't know the RPO codes to help you check.
Drive it and see what it feels like. I really like the GMT800 series. Several things are easy to work on when needed.

My brothers 04 Yukon just went on 2 trips to Denver (550 miles round trip) pulling a trailer. Once with a S-10 Blazer, and once with a Jeep on the trailer. 210,000 miles. Original engine, and trans. Got stranded on the second return trip, with a weak fuel pump. Otherwise going strong. Side note: If you are tall, 6'3" or above, steer away from them if it has a factory sun roof. The sun roof cuts into the headroom, and will bother tall drivers.

UPDATE: I brought it home. $7500. Runs good, shifts good. Small issues: Knock sensor code, service 4wd light (thankfully stuck in 2wd). Radio comes on but no sound. Window buttons work on driver's door but are kinda crappy.
No auto ride thank goodness.
I hope it's a good one!!!

Get Delco window switches from Rockauto.

Clean the grounds on the back side of the body mount under the driver front door.

Clean the connector terminals for the knock sensor sub harness at the driver rear of the intake manifold.

Check the transfer case oil level, and look for any seepage due to pump rub.

Thank you for the tips!! I would be amazed if cleaning the knock sensor terminals worked!

It may not, but the ground terminals were in a TSB for the ABS module, mine improved slightly after that, and a buddy told me that he had one fixed by cleaning the connector at the intake. I haven't gotten mine to quit setting the code for bank 2 yet, however I have new Delphi sensors and a new sub harness. You may have to do sensors in the end, but try the simple stuff first.

Service 4WD message can be as simple as a dirty switch. Seriously, it's easy to get the switch out of the dash, take it apart and clean everything. #2 would be the T-case shift actuator. Biggest failure with those is the position sensor, which is available separately. It's possible to spot a bad sensor by visual inspection and/or DMM tests, but you have to disassemble the actuator (not that hard).
