Thinking of moving on from my BLazer..

Also, along the lines of what AJM said, my sister is always hounding me to get rid of my Yukon, she says I'll have alot more money for gas, and can do more. I ask her how I'll get all my tools home and be able to move. Plus, it's the total bill at the end of the month when it comes down to it. Most small cars I have seen are actually MORE on insurance, prolly because guys my age that drive small cars turn them into ricers. So, keeping your bought and paid for K5 will prolly be a better deal then paying for another that may not be better on gas, plus if you sell the K5, you'd have to leave this site becuase you'd no longer own a Blazer.:p:

when I used to DD my k5 people would always ask why I didn't sell it for something better on gas and what I figured was this.

Blazer is paid off and insurance is only 400 bucks a year. Fill it up with gas lets say twice a month. So roughly i was spending $233 a month on my truck. There was no way I was gonna get a newer gas saver car for under $233 a month including, payment, insurance, and gas. (not to mention the repairs I might have to someone else to do on those rice burners) So I just saw it for me as not being that economical

...plus if you sell the K5, you'd have to leave this site becuase you'd no longer own a Blazer.:p:

I see the sarcasm there but yeah...WRONG. Half the membership would be gone if that was true.:D

Having a commuter vehicle in addition to a recreational truck is well worth it. I bought my DD for $700 years back (it needed some work), at ~30 mpg it has paid for itself many times over.

Of course, when the truck stops becoming your primary transportation some crazy things can happen

i agree...i didnt buy my k5 sittin on 36's w/1 tons and detroits front and rear to b a dd...although i do drive it quite a bit...ive got a 1996 for escort that gets 32mpg's on the highway and round 21mg n city...i paid $400 for the car six yaers ag w/94,xxx miles...it now has 133,xxx miles, air blows cold and all i have to do is keep up with maint on it...
