Seriously... this is nuts.

My old u-bolts that held my 10-bolt were shot. Two were removed with an angle-grinder and one other was severely damaged using the heat-with-a-torch-until-it-turns method. (It took the threads out)

So I have one u-bolt in terrible condition. I have gone to Advance, Auto Zone, O'Reilly's, Napa, a gear shop that sells axle parts, 4Wheel Parts...

NOBODY has or can get them. WTF! The ones you can find are in the Help! section, and they look tiny in comparison. The bolts are just nowhere near as thick as the OEM stuff.

Are those thin ones at the parts stores to be trusted or can someone recommend a place to get "real" ones???

Your going to have to find a dedicated JEEP or 4x4 off road shop or order them online. Places like ORD and DIY are selling HD Ubolts I believe. IF you need them quickly, mention CK5 and see what can be done about quick shipping. Im sure theyd help a brutha out. I would not use those thin cheap ones, they will either strip out on you when you go to tighten them or just plain snap.

Any heavy truck places around? I went to one of them, found out who they used, and had a set bent up to my length while I waited. Think they were like 7 bucks a piece, including nuts and the thick washers

What about LMC?? Would you trust them to sell "real" ones or the cheap ones?

Someone did mention a place that pretty much just did big bolts and stuff. Said they'd thread some stock and bend it right then and there for you... I'll have to find out where the place is.

I have a spring shop right down the street but they want $15 for each U bolt?

Well, the cheapos are like $7 each, so $10 or more doesn't seem that unreasonable. I'd think $40-$50 would be about right.

But then again I've never shopped for these until now...so who knows?

I just went to a local spring shop in town that deals mostly with dump trucks and such. Told them what I needed and they bent up a set for the front and rear. They are thick washers and tall nuts, and the u-bolts themselves are pretty thick. I go in there a lot, so they were free:D, but usually they would be about $50 or so for eight u-bolts.

I got my set from Full Throttle Suspension since they're local for me... $100 for all 8 of them so it wasn't exactly a deal but they had them in stock and ready to pick up.

4x4 customs in snellville (770) 736-0033. i used to wheel w/ one of the mechanics there. they ran a pretty good shop.
