the M1008 with 10 bolts is worth some money if its clean and not rusty and beat up.. i would say if the body is excellent and interior is just as clean i would say its worth around $2500..the high price for the one in the other post is way out of line.IMHO... you have to remember even with the 5/4 springs on a 10 bolt, it is going to destroy the 10 bolt if you haul anything in it.. those trucks can easily haul 3000lbs with the 14 bolt..so advertising it as a great tow, haul truck is very misleading seeing how it has very weak parts in very important places... again, JMHO

Ok fellas, I think everything that can be said has been said.

1) The listing is likely over priced in most markets. CHECK
2) Some folks don't think it's good to put lighter axles in place of heavy. CHECK
3) Some folks think it's just fine to combine left overs of various grades to recoup costs through resale. CHECK
4) Not everyone agrees with everyone else on the internet. CHECK
5) Prove yet again that 99% of threads on the internet devolve into "mine's bigger than yours" (and that 99% of statistics are made up on the spot, now I got that one covered too ). CHECK

So please move along and let the sand kicking conflicts stay on other sites before things go completely off the rails here. No need to rehash past conflicts in new threads either.
