Can you post up some pics of how far your tires stick out past the body? And your wheel backspacing? here is what i got now in a 16" wide tire

15" wide tires, 10" wide rims with 3 5/8" backspace. 4-5" sticking out past the sheetmetal up front. 2-3" sticking out past the sheetmetal in the rear.

didn't meet the standards, but i'm pretty close..

4.25" backspacing 10" wide 16" rims
37"x14"x16r Iroks bias ply

they stick out in the front almost half way and in the back about a 1/3 maybe..

it really depends on how im eyeing it up, but it is a lot, i know that for a fact and i love the way it looks and the slight stability it adds.

EDIT: forgot the pic D=

Here are mine 38.5x15.5x16.5 tsl's on stock h1's drw 60 up front and 2" spacers in the rear. The rear is tucked in nicely, the fronts probably stick out about 4" or so

yeah thats my problem, i am tired of being harrassed by the troopers about my tires sticking out to far. Fender flares are not an option on a first gen. that is a crime within itself. I was wanting to go with a 38/15.5/18 but it is not looking to good.

Lots of backspacing will be your friend (and enemy!)

Here's a 16" wide TSL on an H1 (non-recentered) wheel...7" of BS with a van-width 14BFF

The straightedge only showed 1/4" of stickout from the fenderlip. Basically perfect.

Up front, no dice.... At least not with 16.5" wheels.

You can't mount a 16.5" wheel with 7" BS up front....the tie rod hits the rim, the knuckle hits....basically it hits everywhere and WAY before the rim is even close to slipping over the wheelstuds.

With an 18" wheel, you might have a chance....lots of backspacing will make you "legal" but expect lots of interferences when the truck flexes....both in the rear wheel tubs, and especially up front. You might even be rubbing on the frame at full-lock. :dunno:
