Those that built their own roll cages

I explained a bunch of that stuff in another recent thread. Check here for the details.

I just called today about getting tube to do my cage. I can't find HREW in stock, just DOM. I can get DOM for $3.05 a foot locally. I guess I'll continue to search for HREW.

If you can buy DOM for $3.05 per foot, I want the phone number!!!!! For that price, I'll bring down and empty trailer and fill it up with 1000' of tube!!!

DOM is around $6.50/ft these days!!

Are you sure you heard that price right???? :dunno:

That was a price for 300 feet. Yes it is correct. 1 3/4"x.120 wall DOM. I will dig the number up for you.

VTBlazer and I are heading down for the Rausch Creek event in early May, so I'll probably just arrange to pick some up then before heading back home!!! That's a screaming deal and I will be buying LOTS...!!!!

Here is my cage as of now.

Well it has been while since I have started this thread and I have since bought by JD2 bender with a 1.75"-5.5 die and bend my first tube making my front winch bumper out of HREW. I built the cage out of DOM, I got 6 18' sticks for trade of building a fellow wheelers 700R4 trans. I was able to get my 'A' pillar close enough to make my satisfied and the overall cage (rear hoop and halo) so tight that I had to use a dead blow hammer to fit it.

It is my no means done, still have to do the seat mounts, harness mounts, put the dash back together along with knotching and welding the dash back together and finish the halo triangulation after the seat mounts (so I know where my seats will be). Anyway here are some teaser pics of my progress for now.
