Take the fill plug out and install a street el. Then put the plug in the top of that. I did that on my NV4500 to hold another 1/2 quart or so.So I have to ask , have any of you thought that maybe these could carry a little more oil?
I ask because I just installed one out of a '93 in my Jimmy. I'm probably over thinking it, but it just seems like the oil fill is kinda low on the housing.
I know old log truck drivers used to extend the fillers on their axles to carry more oil. I thought about using the spare cover and welding in a bung.
Sorry if this is TOO much of a high-jack.

I did some research vis Rock Autos tech info. There is a 1/2" difference between the two.

Point it up and run a C/V driveshaft. With a short wheelbase, this is extra oil capacity. Of course, the front pinion bearing isn't really doing any better. So I have to ask , have any of you thought that maybe these could carry a little more oil?
