Thread: Skinny Tires on a Full-Size

Does a 38x12.50x16.5" count?

Martin
To me, yes.

Considering most tires past 36" tall get lots wider I think a 12.5" wide tire in the 36-38" range isn't that wide.

Every day I work around 46" Michelins that are only like 15" wide. They definitely seem like they are tall and skinny tires when you compare them to a 44x19.5 Interco or similar tire.

Meanwhile 12.5" wide but 31" tall tires seem super wide. 33's in that width seem about normal. 35's...a bit narrower. 37's...starting to look narrow. 38's are definitely narrow.

i totally have this contest won :haha::haha:

I hate the look of skinnies, and the flares just make it worse, but i didnt want it sitting on good tires in storage all winter

I think it all depends on what type of terrain you'll be driving on. Sand, definitely the wider tire unless you like digging. Same w/ deep snow, you want the flotation. Mud, if it has hard pack under, skinnier might not be as bad. Rocks and gravel roads, it's probably less important.
