I was cruising around the other day and threw a code, it only happens at a certain throttle position. The code is Low TPS Voltage. I have done no other troubleshooting and I have to assume this is the original from 1987. Should I just buy one from the parts store of your choice and replace it or is it possible to adjust it.

The code comes and goes and it seems to always be at the same throttle postion almost as if the resistor is damaged from use in one spot.

Thanks

Ira

sounds like its time to replace it :)

Betcha you get a way better throttle response with a new one -- I imagine this one is probally fairly low across the board...

He means, if it's got low voltage across the board (across the sweep), it isn't juicing the engine correctly for the amount of throttle input you got on it....so you'll get better performance with a new one.

Exactly!

As these things get older, their resistances increase, so it doesn't send accurate throttle position data to the computer :)

Much like my 20 year old headlight switch/dash light dimmer. New switch, cleaned contacts and grounds - which caused my headlights and dash lights to get about 50% brighter! :D Now to get that HD light harness and the Hella H4/H1 upgrade installed...

Hijack.
How do you get the codes for a 91 Blazer? My service engine soon light has come on a few times in the last 3 days.
Hijack off.
