When I go from neutral to reverse, I get a fairly loud thunk. When I go from neutral to drive, I get almost no thunk. Does anyone have an idea what would cause this? I have a th350 transmission in a 75 Blazer.

That's a typical symptom of a U-Joint gone bad. Check your rear driveshaft joints for wear.
If they're fine, you should check out your tranni and transfercase mounts to make sure all the bolts are tight.
