I am looking for an AC Delco part number for the right-side tie rod end with a 7/8" thread.

Working from this catalog:
https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog...d+v8+diesel,1157374,steering,tie+rod+end,7428

I can buy their cheap knockoff "Ac Delco Advantage" part with this number:
ACDELCO 46A0274A

But if I want to use their professional line of parts I can only find a 1" thread option.
ACDELCO 45A0132

So...is there no option for those of us needing 7/8" tie rod ends? :dunno:

I used to buy Moog parts but have not been impressed with their quality of late. Not just hearsay, I had a Moog ball separate into pieces after only 200 miles. That was an expensive ride home.

Any other brands have a good reputation anymore? :ears:

The ES2234R would fit my application, but I'm specifically wanting to avoid cheap knockoff brands. And I now consider Moog to be one of those.

I bought all 3 pieces from NAPA last June for my truck,in the 1" version (Long tie rod, short tie rod & adjusting sleeve),and it was $75 for all 3,less than Rock Auto or any other local parts supplier wanted, plus they got it the next day, everyone else was 2+ days for shipping to the store..

They also listed the 7/8" sizes at similar prices, but I went for the 1" because that was on the truck previously..

When I got the parts ,they were not Moog or any other "well known" brand, but I wasn't too worried about them failing,1" is pretty beefy..
They will likely outlast the rest of my truck..

You saw the tie rod that came apart on me--it was no "good brand" either, but I've had the truck 15 years and not babied it any,if it took that long for it to fail (due to rust more than poor quality),I doubt I'll have to replace the tie rods again unless I bend the long one somehow..

I now shop for price, since "quality" is a crap shoot today no matter who's name is on the box--not to say I buy only the cheapest crap possible,I just shop around..I look for NOS parts or old stock from bought out parts stores at swap meets now..

Moog has gone downhill a lot,I hear many shop mechanics I know who do not trust them like before--true there are any number of imported "no-name" brands now showing up everywhere, and maybe some are low quality--but I'm not going to pay $40 for a ball joint in a Moog or AC box that may have been made at the same factory in Mexico or China..the box and name isn't worth $25 more to me..tie rod busted 005.jpg

The part number is 45A0274, it just isn't available anymore or something.
