have any of you guys towed rigs long distances with those a frame things that hook up to the bumper or the trailers that you just have the two front wheels on? because i have no way of getting a flatbed or a truck i feel safe towing a flatbed with
That would suck to break a knuckle on a trail.....Not to mention all the time and space included with the tires......Member, MNSTRBURBAN here flat tows his big azz sub all the time behind his chevy 2500 with a special triangle tow bar and a special Bumper center from DIY4X he ahd made. Wheels with 42 irocks but tows with 35's. Said it tows like a dream and just puts every thing in neutral. PM him for more info. His name is Matt.

What ever gets you to the trails I guess........
This is how I get to MoabI hear ya. Matt said all 4 of his 42's fit inside the burb but he is generally towing it from Orange County to Glamis and back which is about 225 miles each way and not the 800 or so to Utah. If people are interested in Matts bumpercenter from DIY you really should have him take pic as it seems to have twice the beef as their stock centers have. He's got 4 shackles up front instead of the two and a giant pintal hitch mount just below the fairlead mount with the incorporated spring and core support mounts. Very impressive.

Some people fly here and rent j#*ps.I would love to make a trip out to Moab sometime, but 1200 miles there and 1200 miles back sure is a long roadtrip, gas would be killer...that is unless I can call shotgun and fly out![]()

My biggest worry is trail breakage and no way to get home.

) for the trip, and fly out the day after it's all done.Get over it. It's not such a big deal.

Especially now that you are a fellow D60 snob![]()

Get over it. It's not such a big deal. I've driven to and from the Bash for the last seven years. The first few years 1800 mile roundtrip from Nebraska, and the last couple of years a 1000 mile roundtrip from Phoenix. You're gonna have to adjust your driving on the trails a little bit. But breakage during the Bash is something we'd like to avoid anyways. Makes for long days...
Your first and last statements conflict. Breakage doesn't only screw up an otherwise fun wheeling trips because you can't wheel your own rig anymore if it can't be fixed but if you care about the people you wheel with you should help them out until their rig is back home or in the repair shop. having a broken rig 900 miles from home with no trailer would really bring the suck for everyone in the group especially the owner of said breakage. That's why I feel a trailer is the way to go especially with my 1/2 ton junk. Like you said, no one likes for long days 'cause of breakage.
Moab is the wheeling Mecca of the world.how does moab compare to the rubicon
.well how much of a challenge is it because i was talking to this guy that drives a 07 powerwagon (this is a quad cab long bed anchor) its stock no lift no nothing its got some chitty sliders eaton e lockers a sway bar disconnect and a winch and he said he took it threw the hardest parts of moab and im just sitting there nodding my head so this somewhat gave me a bad impression. do any of you guys think this guy could have been telling the truth.Moab is the wheeling Mecca of the world.
