Tire cupping and uneven wear

On my k30 my front right bogger is wearing terribly. The driver isn't much better but better none the less. Still running drag link steering. Ball joints and tie rod ends seem tight.
I tend to think this is a passenger side alignment issue as it's worse on that side and perhaps causing the slight wear on the driver side.
Now question is, is it towed in or out? I think inward.
These boggers don't last long to begin with but I'd hat to trash the fronts as the rear duals seem to not have much wear at all.
If you look at the pics, the lugs are raised to the front on top of the tire. On the bottom that'd be rearward. (trailing side)

Is this a tire pressure issue perhaps?

How are you guys aligning your lifted strait axles? I'm having trouble finding time to get to a shop working 7 days right now...

If it were a toe in or out issue you would see directional feathering of the lugs. That doesnt appear to be a toe issue but more of a bogger issue. High and low lugs is usually indicative of worn shocks or shocks that cant keep up with imbalance. Looking at the pics, your es9000 shocks probably arent really doing all that great of a job keeping up. As the tires wear they will become less and less balanced only making it worse.
Throw em on the rear and that will likely flatten them back out.
 
Ohhh I didn't think of that! I may have to steal the 5150s off the k5 and see what happens.
Unfortunately I only have the 4 chrome wheels so they can't be switched to the rear without dismount. Thanks for the heads up
 
That kind of something you'll have to be proactive about with boggers and directional tires in general.
It would be worth your effort to just have them both switched to the rear inners.

Eventually I will but for now my schedule does not permit. I'll have to raid the shocks after work one night and swap em the next night
 
Unfortunately this will always be a problem with bias plys. Even worse with boggers. They are not really a streetable tire. Just fine once in a while or headed to the trail but for a long term tire the issues you are seeing are typical. I have run TSLs for a long time and needed to rotate constantly to get good wear. With the directional tire and not enough matching rims you are going to fight them constantly. I had better luck with the radial TSLs but still rotated them about every oil change. I have finally given up on Intercos and stepped up to Toyos. The difference is remarkable. My last 38" TSL bias would shake, especially when cold, practically undrivable below 30 degrees. Treadwear was bad too. I thought my shocks must be crap before I swapped tires. The Toyos will rip down the highway at 80 perfectly smooth with no other changes.
 
Same limitation with the 17. Tall (0ver 33") just aren't available in narrower than 12.50s. Fortunately, interco makes a radial ssr in 35x10.50that I could settle for and hope the wear, balance and ride better. I have yet to get a real world opinion on them
 
your dana 60 has ball joints ? :thinking:

my budget beater truck never wore tires on the front . 35" mud terrain or all terrain or 38" swampers for the axle under the front of it .

now with the bfg mud terrain its chopping them bad . i need to rotate them asap .

blocky tires will chop faster or worse than more solid filled in tread tires .

top pin and bottom plate has pin = king pin even tho its not 1 solid pin like I-beam fronts your thinking .
