Wasilla AK,
So I need a set of 35-12.50R/16.5 for Smokey

My go to for a street truck , the BFG AT is no longer available. In fact the only company that even makes a radial 16.5 in a 35” is Interco.

So I have narrowed it down to either the Truxxs MT or the Vortrac AT .

How soft are these things , am I only gonna get 10,000 out of them or are they compareable to other radials?

I went through the same thing and everyone including my tire wholesaler steered me away from interco for qc issues and being terrible to balance for a road truck/tow rig. Of course I was also looking for a 35 x 11 which put me in the bias ply tire only.

I reeeeally just want another set of BFG At’s I have been running that tire on trucks just like this for 20+ years with good results. :(

I voted for the truxxus, just because it just looks like an all around better street tire. I got 285/75/16 cooper AT3's for my 79. Hopefully they do well.

What truck are these for?

with bias I would agree however the radials seem to balance out fine from my experience with a couple sets.

I really like the Truxus MT. It's a great all around tire. But, Interco and mileage do not belong in the same sentence. I pay that much for tires, I want more than 20k miles.

I say buy some cheap 17" wheels and get a tire that will last, BFG, Cooper, what ever.

I’m committed to my Welds and Slotted mags

Not to totally derail this thread but what is the story on the Xranger? I was just looking at them because I have the 37" BFG Baja hummer tires on my truck but they are getting a bit cracked. I have always thought that out of the 3 hummer tires the MT was the worst, if they were doing the MTR or Baja tread I would have already bought some. Treadwright is retreading the MTR pattern but a new tire for the same money ($250) seems like a much better buy. I am in the same boat on rims, have a few different sets of nice old school 16.5 aluminums that I hate to retire.

If only slots and Welds were as widely available in a 16 inch wheel.

I wouldn't have ford wheels on my 79, that's for sure.

I agree, slotted mags, cyclones, turbines, all classic looks for classic trucks. I don't want 20" rims with Monster energy logos, they are f-ing stupid.

I changed to a 16" wheel instead. Still not alot of choices but much more than 16.5.

I’m sure they are Chinese made at that price but honestly, for 250.00 I will give them a try.

Treadwright , I have had mixed results with there stuff . They are very good about warranty but if the cap flies off and destroys the bedside ........
