Tires and Stock 99 Tahoe

I just bought a 99 Tahoe. It currently has 245/70r16. What is the largest tire that I could fit without any other mods? How does this tire size translate to inches?

I know you can fit 265/75/16's, I had one off my pickup and put it on my 98 Tahoe, and I think you might be able to squeeze some 285's on there, but not too sure about that.

285's will fit, translates roughly to a narrow 33".

I had 285's on my '99 Tahoe 2 dr. No real problems.

I run 285/75R16 Nitto Terra grapplers on my 99 GMC Yukon. They fit just fine even though the salesman didn't want to sell them to me because he said they wouldn't fit.
