Tires for stock suspension

Just checked the interco web site and they are bias. They say the tire is MORE agressive than a TSL and the bias ply allows the sidewalls to be stiffer. Also I misspoke or typed as the case may be, they only cary 2600# each.

Forgot about the stock 3 leaf front springs. That would be a good spring to use if you only have the 2 leaf models.

Bilsteins a re a little more money, but from what I hear they are a great shock!

There are alot of good suggestion in this thread. Hope they help! :) Swampers may not be a good idea if you want a good on road tires unless you go withthe Truxus MT or STS....

If you keep your stock wheels, I think you could get away with running a a 33x12.50x15. The stock ones are supposedly 7" wide. Or maybe step up to an 8" wide aftermarket wheel. Although I ran 35's on 10" wheels with a 4" lift when I first got my 82 Jimmy. On the road I never hit, just when I got good compression off road, the tire contacted the fender lip some.

If I am ever in Portland, I'll take you up on that ride! My father has a 50th Aniv. Vette and I would like to feel the difference of the ZO6.. :D

Here are the shots with my tires:

Can you mount a 10.5 wide tire on stock steel 15X6 rims? would you want to?

I think 33's are great D.D. tire size. My old 76 had 33's on 10's and 2" suspension and 1" body. Before it lifted it, the tires on 10's hit the fenders. My 88 came with 33's on the stock steel wheels. They didn't hit at all. My 89 had 33's on 10's with no suspension mods, but the did hit the fenders. A small amount of trimming on the inside corners and it was fine. You couldn't even notice it. That truck is now going to 35's, with 2" suspension and 1" body.
Here's my old 76. Sold to anothjer member now.

Yeah that is what I'm going to go with, I'll try and get them to fit first and if not I'll do a 2.5 inch lift springs in the front and shackle flip in the front. Now I just need to pick out some wheels, probably just going to go with the standard Baja style :)

Thanks guys! Bobby
