Do they rub? i know about the sticked thread but i cant tell. Cutting isnt an option. So to anyone, do they rub with stock supspension and/or 4'' lift? Do 12.5 tires rub and are they too wide? thanks. looking to put it on a m1008 (k30)

I assume you mean a later model k series? 33's are probably just fine with a 4" lift or even a stock suspension on any k series. My 33's never rubbed and my 35's haven't so far.

MT's should be no different than the AT's from BFG in fitment...so with stock rally wheels, the 33x10.5R15's will fit with stock suspension on most '81+ trucks.

There are a lot of variables that can affect fitment, but assuming the backspacing is the same on all stock wheels....stock suspension, stock wheels, the 33x10.5's WILL clear on most trucks. Haven't heard of anyone yet that has clearance issues when stock running the 10.5's on these trucks.

The 12.5's are a bit wider when the tire is turned in the wheelwell than the 10.5's (you are measuring from the outside to inside "length" of the tire when turning) so that may be why some fitment issues exist. But non-stock backspacing and bad suspension can also contribute.

Not really sure if you are dead set on the 12.5's or not, so just throwing the 10.5's out there. Some people think they look too narrow, but are no narrower than the optional 31x10.5's the truck came with, and nothing compared to how narrow new truck tires appear to be.

My dads got tires on his '81 that compute out to 34x12.3 or so and clear fine with the later (IFS) wheels, and I have no idea why they clear on that relatively stock (although sagging in the front from a BBC and PTO winch) truck.

on my 79 k5 4 in lift my 35" bfg at's rubbed the fenders when turned and hitting a good bump.

when i had goodyear mt's 33.1250 on my 73 k5 stock suspension they rubbed the fenders pretty good when turning on flat ground.

yeah, the m1008 is equivelent to an 86 k30, i forgot its got 16 inch rims, ill have to look into that. Anyone else?

315/75R16's should be about the same size as a 35x12.5R16.

Stock you should be able fit 285/75R16's or 255/85R16's. Maybe 295/75R16's if you can find them.

If you trim a LITTLE you should be able to get some 36x12.5R16 Interco Super Swamper TSL Radials. They're famous for being narrow and the height would REALLY make the trucks a lot more driveable.
4.56 gears + no OD + 6.2L diesels equals big tires or high engine revving.

i have an '89 k5 w/ 2.5" skyjacker. 33" bfgs on stock 15x8 rims originally went on w/ the lift and never hit. a few years later i went up to 35s and they did rub (until they knocked all the rust off:whistle:)

I have never seen 33x12.50s rub on stock K trucks, (87 & prior), on 15x8 wheels, even with worn springs. With a 4" lift, 35x12.50s will fit on 15x10s.

I ran 33" x 12.5 x 15 BFG AT's on stock ralley rims on both a '74 K5 and an '85 CUCV K5, no issues on either with stock suspension.

Since yours is 8 lug and 16" wheel, I don't know about backspacing.

Oh yeah, I should mention hobie...hobie0237...something like that...over here and on Steel Soldiers is running 315/75R16's on his truck with minimal trimming.

i was looking at the 285/75R16 or 305/70R16. Think those equal out both to 32.8 inches and 11-12inches wide. What do you think on the 16 inch 8 lug rims?

oh yeah, anyone know if tirerack is closing out on this line? Beleive it or not its cheaper for me to buy on there than local.

They should both fit perfect on the stock 16x6.5's.

The truck will be slow and LOUD with those tires though. Top speed of maybe 60 or so.

thanks. yeah im looking to get the m1008 84 cucv has and i already have plans haha. Im not worrying about speed, i have a DD civic i use to drive to work, so this will be the around town and offroad toy. I want to add some tires and a 4 inch lift and maybe a winch under the front bumper but otherwise keep it as stock looking as possible, maybe a whip antenea or two heh.

the furthest id drive it would be to work in the snow which is 70miles each way, so id take the train or my time driving, or maybe to rausch creek with a friend, but otherwise no highway.

I'm running the 305/70's on my burban with a 4 inch lift and with 16x8's. It doesn't look like they would clear on a stock or non-trimmed truck, I'm pretty sure I even heard one rub the fender while I was screwing around in a drainage ditch one time.

33's will fit just fine on a K30. I ran 33x12.5's on a stock K5 and they just rubbed a little bit on the rear inner wheel well when flexed.

I had 33x12.50 Mastercraft Coursers on my 87 k series truck and they woulda most likely rubbed if the PO had already had the fenders cut. They were still pretty close

Now my blazer i have 4" lift and 35's with NO rubbing at all. Weird how some are different than others.

Also i think the trucks springs may have been saggin a bit more than usual so that may have had something to do with it

probably because tire diameters are not always true to the advertised size, some are bigger and some are smaller, so thats why im wondering.

True. I think the 35" A/t's on my '94 are bigger than the 35" M/T's on my blazer. May have to due with the rim size too :dunno:
