To anyone who ran 33'' bfg MTs on a k series..

which is why im looking for anyone who ran the mts specifically, though i guess between all the different lifts and degrees of sag its pretty random, i just dont wanna buy 800 bucks of tire and have em rub, uhh ajmblazer you know if the m1008s suspension are heavier or the same as a k30s?

I guess im just gonna have to buy and see? I mean half of you say no problem and the other half say theyll rub.

I have a 79 k-5 with a 4" w/ 15x10 wheels and 33x12.50 MTR's and at a good flex they rub the bottom of the fender. I had these wheels and tires on stock suspension and they rubbed the bottom of the fender turning on flat ground.

Also if you plan to drive it on the street 4.10's seem to work much better the the 4.56's. My K5 that had the 33's on it were on 15x8's with 4" backspacing and they were BFG MT's. The M pick-ups were rated 1 1/4 ton but I don't know if there was any real suspension difference.

The springs were all just standard GM spring packages, nothing special. The military just used the actual rated capacities of the trucks and not their "traditional" ratings (ie 1/2 ton, 1 ton, etc)

The 305's would likely give you issues because of their extra width. That's what's going to get you into trouble, not the height. Go with a taller but narrow tire. 285/75R16 (33x11.25R16) or 255/85R16 (33x10.5ishR16) with the 255 usually being a teensy bit taller between the two.

Hey just to let you know Im running a 85 1/2 ton blazer stock ride and run 32/10.50/15 BFG mudders with no problem at all! Also my buddy is unning 89 K5 4 inch lift 35/12.50/15 has little rub on win maxed out hard! but both of use love the tires! Seems the 1 ton should help not rub but im not sure.

Well I'll back up what pretty much everyone is saying here. I ran 33x12.5 M/Ts on 15x8 wheels on my 91 K5 with the stock three leaf springs up front and stock springs in back and they never even thought about rubbing even under hard flex.

Checked my dads tires, they are 285/75R16, so just a hair under 33". That's on the later IFS wheels, but they do not rub under any conditions. I know they aren't MT's, but it backs up what others have said.

Side story...when I wanted to get tires, but saw that there was no consensus if they would fit without rubbing, I talked to the tire place (Discount) and asked them about my plans, and what if they didn't fit. I assume because it's such a large dollar amount, but they knew my reservations, and told me they would take them back if they didn't work out. As it was, they worked out, so I never had to find out if they would indeed take them back if they did rub.
