To east coast guys, can I salvage this?

Was this thing in a constant salt bath? I've seen some bad ones, and this is right up there lol

The add specified 454 truck, and I get there to see no heads, the engine has been open for 34 years.
The hood separated top from bottom when I was trying to see the engine.
Good thing it has enough stuff I need to make the price I paid worth it.

How's the frame? If it's shot there's no point moving forward.
New doors, fenders, hood...that cab, idk.
If you got the chops you can fix it. If not, it'll need replaced.
Thats a boatload of work any way you go.

Time and money.

I think it boils down to how many parts you have readily available vs needing to source. If already have workable fenders, hood, parts from donor cab, motor/trans for it etc, then its going to be mostly your time; whats your time worth and the opportunity cost? If you have to buy lot of parts, I’d say its not worth it.

What were the parts you bought it for?

45+ years born and raised and worked in salt bath HELL = RUN away ............................................:yikes:

i have parted out truck with half that much rust / rott in them and to the point i basically broken even .

WHY did you not ask any of use east coast guys to check it out first before you paid money for it ? . . all you did is speed up the china scrap import time line with this pile .

Well I did get my money's worth just in the thread I just did.
Yeah I realized when I bought it that I am not rebuilding it.
It has the one thing I needed and the extra stuff was a bonus.
It's a 10k lbs gvwr truck, 1974 so no smog.
I also got my 454 exhaust manifolds that I needed for the 8.1 in my 74 suburban.
It has a really nice aluminum 14' bed with stake sides.
I also found out it has a clean dash and Guage set with tach.
The grill is in good shape and has a good charcoal color bench.
In case it's not obvious by now the post was a joke, I scrapped a truck that had a couple of dime size rust holes in the rocker.
I hate rust.

The frame surprisingly is not bad, and I am making the bed into a trailer.
