To east coast guys, can I salvage this?

I scrapped a 80 k30 with a 12k gvw 1 time . Had badges on cab for trailer towing special 12,000 gvw . And seen some 2wd trucks go to 15k or 16k but not in person .

I suspected, just played along! Lol

SWEETK30 - do you recall what the spring pack looked like on that 12K K-30 ?
Also, was it a cab chassis or truck with a bed?
I’m just curious about the spring configurations - my old 83 crew cab DRW K-30 was rated at 10K and had the usual nine leaf pack plus an auxiliary leaf but my other 83 cab chassis K-30 has a 15K rating and has a ten leaf stack but no auxiliary leaf - on the 15K stack the following leaves are longer and rest directly under the main leaf eyelet compared to the 10K pack that does not support the main leaf in the same manner.
Just wondering what the 12K pack was like?

Added pics for reference - the 83 C/C K-30 15K pack and the other two are also C/C’s ( R-3500’s 1988’s ) one rated at 10K and the other at 15K.

Thanks, Tom

Spray it down with this any you won't even have to haul the body away for scrap.

10k is the magic number for me because at 10001 I get in the higher bracket that requires extra regulation.
oh we get it per bracket in weight also for sure here .

and currently diesel and 8,601lbs and up are exempt from plug in to obd2 computer check testing for yearly inspections .

I had an 88 c&c with a utility bed, it was a 15k and had a 12leaf spring pack no overload.
My 12k truck with a regular bed had the 10 pack with a 2 leaf overload.
Also the 12 pack had thick leaves compared to the 10 leaves on the regular truck.

Not to sidetrack from the super-comfy spring discussion, but the initial truck made me think of May's mud car.
Ha,ha ! I think ole Captain Slow needed a spring pack like this for all that extra weight.
Damn, went and derailed the rusted truck post again…

I see you’re not doing anything but pulling the good parts. Probably best but restoration is possible as long as you got enough time or money or skill or all three. Lol. Glad you got your moneys worth either way. Pa is not good on vehicles either. Always fighting the rust.

Don't get me wrong I spent my early days in the middle east on the coast and I never scrapped a vehicle. They were too expensive to replace and too cheap to fix so we did.
I just got tired of it and living here I can build the best vehicle out of 3 and sell off left over parts and cost me close to nothing.
I don't waste any parts and rusty or damaged parts get scrapped for extra cash.
