To inject or not to inject? - ditching EFI...carb CFM?

Couldn't you just sell your current parts and get enough to almost cover a fast ez efi or something similar, don't really see a need to be able to tune it that much at only around 500 hp
that's what im saying?
is there a reason it can only be one of the two most expensive efi setups?
just pop on a tbi setup or spring for one of the new self learning kits and enjoy driving for a change. bet you could sell your parts now to get ahead $$ as well as be on the road.

Just looked up some specs, those heads and 2" primary headers are way too large for that cam

That cam is something you'd run a stock peanut port head with tbi

Those heads can handle up for .700" lift

I would get a cam with at least .650" of lift and 230* of duration at .050, maybe 240*

Just don't see the point of having all those expensive parts just to make probably less power and a $1200 tbi 454 rebuild

All good points. Cam was picked based on what Camquest said. I shoulda called Comp and talked to them. :doah:

The EFI is multiport and Edelbrock's 1st gen (bought used). Requires a chip. I didn't want to deal with chips, hence was considering upgrading to something flash programmable. The self learning setups are looking very appealing.

I'm just getting super antsy to get it back on the road. But like everyone else, don't want to spend a ton of money to do so.

If you have the harness? And don't want to bother with chips? Look at a Dynamic EBL. It's a modified GM ECM with it's own OS, comes with all needed files and starter bins for built engines, will Auto VE fuel tune if you have a Wide Band. All though USB, no chips.

$520.

Yes, I have the harness that came with the Edelbrock kit. I'll check out Dynamic. Thanks!
