Today, I became A beliver

Any idea on their newer 1/2" gun? I forget the part number off hand. And their website sucks so I cannot find it on there. I would assume it is the same as the MG725.

I though that was their newest gun. it was just released not too long ago, maybe year and a half? I got it while it was on sale the 1st month it was released.

I bought mine right away when it came out. it is hands down the best impact gun I have EVER used, period. we have 2 3/4'' CP guns and one 3/4'' IR and I still prefer to use it over them. however, I think they would perform better with bigger airlines. Snap on has a 90 year anniversary (I think its 90 year) edition out and im thinking of buying that one too.

our shop bought the 3/4" version of the MG725...whatever the umber is i don't know. i used it the last week with 3.4" air line...... :eek1: what a MONSTER.

Oh man I want to stop by, Just to use it! lol

you know the rivetbolts that they use on class 8 truck frames, bang the crossmembers on with these cause it fast and cheap. but usually torch the head off to get them out and replace with regular hardware to move a crossmember. well the gun twists the heads right off them. thats some serious kerPow right there.

They get any young faces in there, or does it still look more like a retirement home?

Lots of young blood. Oddest thing for me is it is the young ones that don't really give me the time of day. It is normally the opposite, cause of the way I look and such. Oh well. There are so many guys in that shop I'd have to spend hours there if I did business with most of them, and I can't afford that time.

thats just a spin off. they just plonked a big muffler on the back end of it. so its quieter. but you lose a bunch of power. its not a new model though. I think theres 3 versions of the 725. the original, that quiet one, and one with a long drive IIRC.

The front hammer housing is smaller, skinnier, and a little longer I believe. Maybe it is an illusion because the backside of the gun is bigger.

Putting a muffler in one of our guns does not reduce the power at all. In fact I do it as a service to all 3/8" and mini-1/2" impacts I sell. I had a quiet IR gun when I was a tech, guys with the same model IR gun used to borrow mine because it had more balls than theirs did.

Holy crap the new snap-on guns are loud. I for one think they could be ALOT quieter. Think about the serious hearing loss you guys are getting from those.

When they are rotating tires on the lube rack outside my office I can bearly hear people on the phone. Hearing protection is very smart.
