Looks good. I think I'm going to do that this summer since my seals are trashed anyway.

Nice! How much does the top weigh? I'm going to take mine off, but want to know how many people I need to properly juggle it.

Some folks on here have done it themselves while others suggest 4 or more people. I'm going to attempt it with two guys and some rope and 2x4's hanging from the ceiling.

honestly it was SUPER easy with 3 guys alone. I had me my dad and my friend. My dad was on the driver side and me and my friend were on the passanger and just lifted up got it balanced on our hands, walked it back and put it on our little trailer. Im sure putting it on will be alittle bit more difficult but i just checked the weather again and blue skys till next weekendish. So i should be able to go to school all week without worring about needing a tarp or putting it back on.

i do it myself just open up the tailgate and get in behind the reear seat and lift it up with your back and shoulders and walk off the tailgate. its only like 230lbs :D

Hmm, I'm a pretty hefty guy at 6'4" and 260, I would just feel better balancing it with someone else. Sounds like 3 guys would be easy. I can stand mine on end in the front of the garage. here in socal, I figure it will stay off until Nov. :D

If it was up to me mine wohld stay off till next fall but here in So. Illinois the weather is unpredictable during the spring so im gonna have to really watch the weather and hope Jim Razor doesnt lie:haha:I would LOVE to get a soft top but dont have that much money.:eek1:

lookin good. I can't wait to take mine off. I plan on doing a cage so once I get all the materials together then it'll be removed for good. I live in SoCal so I can get away with it most of the year, it's covered when it's parked anyways.

im far from being a big guy, 5'10" and around 190-200lbs, i have managed to get the top off by myself, but i strongly doubt that i could get it back on by myself. Weight isnt really the problem, mostly how aukward the darn thing is. Two guys are typically enough to handle the job without drama.

looks good though, im getting the truck painted here pretty soon, and decided to go brown with it. nice to get an idea of what its gonna look like ;)

Ya mine is factory brown i guess. Its got metalic sparkles in it which is kinda differant gives it a sparkly look when ur close to it in the sun

Looks good but you need some 33s.

I work at a Volvo dealer and when I was considering painting mine one color I noticed Volvo has a nice brown on their 05-07 XC70. It's called Java Pearl and the paint code is 442. Looks real good and it's a dark shade of brown. Now I'm thinking about painting it again...

And I guess now I know what my truck will look like in one color.

Ya i agree i do need 33s but i got a good deal on the 31 super swamps that r on it now bought them for 450 used but dang near brand new

i've taken my top off with just myself and my mom. one per side. then again, my mom can probably kick all your arses :haha:

but seriously, i try to stay on her good side.

I watched my buddy remove it by himself once, but he's a big fella. Two skinny guys can do it without trouble.

its the walking off the gate i think is crazy, mind you, i look like a dude riding a chicken, so i'm told. i watched my bassist years ago hop off a stage with his amp in arms, bout a 2.5' drop. hit the ground, knees buckled and drove his jaw into the top of his amp. dam near lost his tongue. :haha:wish i had video.

Ouch! That'd friggin hurt!

That said, I'm pretty sure Matt just backs his K5 up to a pickup and walks the topper from the K5 over to the pickup, haha :D

Just prop the shell on and slide it, not sure if there's a catch lip like on my broncos but either way, keep an eye on your sides, and be slow, I stood in the "bed" bent over, to take it just a tad bit above the rails to not tear up my seals and had my friends on either side, guiding it verbally and physically, took us MAYBE 5 minutes to line it up, then we all got in the back and wrenched away at bolting it down.
