I have been wanting to remove the top since I "borrowed" the Blazer from my uncle two years ago (I now own it). I finally got one project out of the garage and go it clean enough to pull the Blazer in. Now was to figure out how to do this by myself. I had some 2" x 8" boards that were the right length to go under the top and screwed in some eye bolts on each end. Now to figure out how to lift the boards with the top. I had thought about a crank with rope, but then it was how do you keep everything level? I had run to Home Depot to find something and come across these. https://www.amazon.com/ProGrip-402400-Rope-Lock-Down/dp/B0012XIV82. I picked up four of them and some more eye bolts. The hardest part of this was finding studs in the garage ceiling. I have plywood for flooring up there, so I could not just eye ball where the studs were at. After finally getting all four eye bolts in the ceiling it was time to position the Blazer so the 2 x 8's could be connected to the pulleys. I just went around to each corner and lifted the 2 x 8 a couple of inches and pulled the pulley rope to keep tight. Once I had the clearance I needed I drove the Blazer from underneath the top. Now it is a 50% chance of rain for the next few days!
