Top truck

I think the "truck" class they have now is a joke. Was looking through last year's and some of the rigs I couldn't tell which class they were in. Putting a few more body panels on something shouldn't make it a "truck".

In any case I don't have any issues with the buggy's being in the competition. I will probably never own one but can't deny their practicality with having no compromises regarding performance and no body to demolish. If I did own one I would be lucky to be able to actually use it once per year as I would have to trailer it a long distance to find trails that didn't require at least some street driving.

I like the Ultimate Adventure a lot better as it's more realistic wheeling and I watch it and say "that looks like an obstacle I have been on".

The crazy deep water and holes in TTC are a little ridiculous. A lot of the guys just build a rig for TTC, go to the event, and then sell it. The winner from a couple of years ago was fairly local and I watched the build on the club's website. He spent 2 years building it, did one shakedown run, ran TTC, then came home and sold the buggy. I've been on this club's website for 5-6 years and I don't think this guy has been on a trail or had another trail rig the whole time except for building this buggy and basically running it twice....not saying anything bad about the guy and he is a great fabricator but just not my style.

I see Cheston's rig in there...Cool rig but unfortunately im not voting for anything that has more tube then real truck

I last saw the 2002 TTC, after that I quit caring.
The UA on the other hand is another matter, I actually hope someday I can participate in one, because that is what I build my truck for, go anywhere do anything truck.

He has the entire original frame from the firewall back. The only reason he has changed the frame up front is because the scout frame is super week.

He bent it several times.

I realize it looks like its more tube than not but its really a whole lotta of International Scout left in there.

I think its kind of big and stupid but still cool overall.

But it still looks nothing like a Scout, cool or not... Fenders? full grill? Tail lights (which most of them dont have these anymore) and if they did they would probably use more skill then parts and money

I would go on the UA aswell...Oh right they never come up to New England or any where near me...Id spend all my money (that i would use for repairs, or food and fuel) just to get to the UA

Me, you, Chris, and a couple other guys should all do the UA, one year!

It's not how it works, either you are a big company and sponsor a vehicle and the event, or you are one of the lucky 2 commoners that gets picked to come along.
It's not like you can know where they are and follow them either, unless you know someone that got in and you secretly follow them from home.:thumb:

I would love to do an east coat UA!!!:thumb:

the current UA has never come up to New England, as far as i know, in fact I dont think they do much of anything in New England. I know their based in Cali. but but they go to the south, the north and out west...

Sponsors is what kills it. They hand over their product or money and the team builds and wheels like one big advertisement... Making the TTC like most other Auto Sports, (Nascar, Drag racing, etc) next to impossible for regular people to afford

I stopped paying attention after my buddy was in it years ago. Seeing his personal video and hearing what goes on... was enough for me.

He put on a good show though!!!

Thing about UA is you get in but they don't tell you where your going till last minute.

Our club was involved with UA in 06 and some were privy to the emails going back and forth, they didn't tell em where they were going till like a week and a half before the start day.

Better be ready with a whole lotta gas money :D

Having said that I would love to do UA

man i love the buggies and love watching the buggies compete. theyre awesome. that being said, i love the real trucks just as much and they should be in completely seperate competitions. trucks competing in TTC and buggies competing in TBC(?)
