tow dolly? 1/2 ton truck? Unregistred in tow?

Ok, so im workign on picking up a free truck for a trailer project. Will u haul rent you a tow dolly if you don't have a 3/4 ton truck?

If you use a dolly, does the truck in tow have to be registered?

I know i'm gonna be pushing it a little, but i'm towing on flat ground, and it won't be that far.

I've towed a couple unregistered vehicles using a dolley from u-haul with no problems.

I'm not sure about using a Blazer, both times I used a 3/4ton Suburban. You might have to tell them you are towing a smaller vehicle.

uhaul will rent to you, I've had them hook up a dolly to a 89 4runner before. Just tell them you are towing a small car, cause they say the towed vehicle has to be 75% of the tow vehicle size. ( I think that is right)

so i'm picking up an 89 civic....got it.

Im not liking this idea too much, unless i run out of options. Maybe i'll sac up and pay for it to be towed. Wonder how much towing costs? AAA always covers mine...
