Towing with a k5...???

1/2 ton brakes don't cut it for towing :eek1: .
It doesn't matter if you have (preferably electric) trailer brakes. There was this occasion where I had to tow an electric-brake equipped triple-axle trailer with a 3/4 ton truck. Total GVW with the trailer loaded was 13,800lbs, and when I did a brake check by manually actuating the brake controller (set at the max setting) It locked up the trailer brakes and damn near put me through the windshield. Keep in mind that I didn't touch the brake pedal in the truck - all braking was done by the trailer.

Regardless of what's towing it, the pic of that burb on a trailer with no brakes is just scary.:eek1:

well like i said it was scary bc no brakes i did that once when i bought my truck 01 sierra like 5ft trailer deckover thing swayed like crazy it sucked i was driving like 45-50 the whole way and i wil never tow again with no brakes in my own stuff.

I work Landsacping and i drive a 01 3/4 Ton Ram For my truck at work pulling a 16 ft enclosed trailer what gets me is they have e brakes hooked up but no controllers in the truck suppose he is too cheap.then again he is so cheap he bitches how the brakes on the trucks go but maybe if the trailer brakes were hooked up it would not be a problem . i just dont like my trailer pushing me when stopping regardless how soon i do stop .
