Has anybody been succesful with these motors in a square body? I have not been able to ever get one to run cool enough to feel comfortable towing any distance with one. I have seen every cooling system mod still have 240 deg plus temps pulling passes.

What experiences have you guys had with them? how much weight, and how big of mountains?

Interested as well. What boost are you running? EGT?

Hoping not to find out what that is like. Mine is pushing 14 at the turbo but not sure at the intake.

What injection pump are you using? I dont think any of the stock ones maxed out will need that much boost to clean up. Maybe the extra air will help?

I had one that would make 15 -16psi, with a custom built pump, man did it run. But it seemed impossible to to with....coo.lant temps

my last one was tuned down to 5psi max and 1000 deg max, but still couldnt keep it cool.

Honestly I don't know. I bought the truck with a rebuild pump and it has some poor stampings that don't mean anything that I can find. I have it turned up a 1/2 turn (thinking about going down a 1/8th). It does have a HX35.

Any plans for an intercooler? I added one to my ford 7.3idi, and the difference in power was huge, but hurt coolant temps.

Water/meth injection. I am still worried about throwing the crank out the oil pan. I want to be able to trust it on long trips. What is your experence. I may but a 4bt out of a bread truck at some point.

Never had any crank problems with my 6.2 and 6.5 motors. Just overheating and overheating and then bad headgaskets.

I tried washer fluid on the old ford before I did the intercooler. Home built system, and was a fairly low volume set up. The power difference was huge, id guess 75+ HP. I took it off right away, because I knew my trans would not deal with it for long.

John's SM465 will take the abuse. It's the engine I would be more worried about on his set up.

I spin the heck out of mine. The 465 is not something I am worried about. Right now I am so happy about the turbo I could pee myself. Last years was bad with a N/A diesel pulling my K30 to wheel.

Nothing is wrong with it. Yet. I was saying that the turbo will hurt your engine long before it hurts your SM465.

Oh, I watch the egts pretty close. I actually like that truck alot for some reason. Wish it had A/C

You think dynoing it with the NO2 hose in the intake was bad?

Nah, he only put the nitrous to it for like what, ten seconds?
