would you use a Dana Trac-lok in a street driven Dana 44 front axle.?

The 60's version track lok i had in my Heep, you could put a jack stand under one side and drive off of it.

I’d run it. I had one in a 60 for years, get diff.

If you never plan to have tires in the air, its an excellent differential. Even if you do, it would probably help anyways lol.

yep .

here is a power-lok unit . 2 part carrier bolted together is easy spot over the trac-lok units .

YES they did make them . i had 2 brand new units back in the day i sold both . they had spicer on them .

1 member her got one and my buddys van rear got the other .

I got a Dana 44 powerlok downstairs. Debating on if I wanna put it in the front or just leave it open.

I keep getting Auburn gear, and Nitro Gear power locks for sale. I only see Trac-lok in Dana spicer

A Power Lock is definitely a Spicer product, I have one in my D60.

I am beginning to think that the Power lock is only available for the dana 60 and 70, by Spicer. Other than the Nitro empty case https://www.justdifferentials.com/AG5420109-HP-p/ag5420109-hp.htm
I am going to regear the 44 in my burb, and might as well put a locker in at same time. What would be comparable replacement for the Power Lock in a D44?

Yeah, sorry I should have noted that. The link is a Spicer pdf about the Power Lock, since it was on Spicer’s page I ignored it.

You don’t need to click on the link, my point was to prove it was a Dana / Spicer part. Here’s the first page of the pdf.
