Trade 12 bolt for AAM 11.5

That 11.5in axle would have to be snapped in half with both brakes siezed up with broken lugs on both sides and missing its yoke and that is still a piss poor trade. A 12 bolt is nothing more than a turd polished up and presented as something better than a 10 bolt, and its not.

Plot twist, it's off a dually, he might not want to deal with the hassle of making it fit, plus it's 500 lbs of axle that can be a pain to move around.

I just moved around a 10.5 in the garage. Found a formula that seems to work well. For wheeling around to get into position, I bought some furniture dollies from the local harbor freight for $9 ea. I have an atv/mc jack that has a largish platform and lifted the center section up piece of cake.

Same dollies and jacks worked on the d60 also, can't imagine an 11.5 is that much heavier.

If its off a dually sell it for several hundred dollars buy a couple 14 bolts and your good.

Not saying you can get wrecking yard prices but those are 800 bucks from a yard.

Me too, forklift.:D

The plot does thicken if it's a dually. I can't remember, but a dually rear is either wider or narrower than an SRW. In fact, I think it's even wider. But....even an SRW 11.5 should be wider than your 12 bolt. My 33x12.50's stick WAY out on my '06 Mega Cab diesel with the 11.5.

Starting to make sense..... he has a dually rear, it's way too wide for his K5, and he probably thinks it's way more axle than he needs because it's just a half ton. But...it's still a way lop sided trade....

Unfortunately he doesn't want to trade the axle anymore, must have read this thread :haha:
Oh well there is always another deal around the corner, I'm in no rush anyways with all that I have left to do.
