In my opinion, this truck is much better than the one I had, it's highway driveable and in much better shape.

BUTTT....I got in to move it today, and the e-brake is stuck. I drove it around last night, and obviously he never used the e-brake ever. It's a habit for me to use it, so I did, and tonight I couldn't get the truck to budge. It goes better in reverse than drive.

My question is, what's the easiest way to get this unstuck? Do I have to take the wheels off to get to the drums to fix this?

The e-brake pedal pops out when the release lever is pulled, so that's not stuck, but one of the drums is...

I was hoping to have saftey inspection done tomorrow, but I can't if I can't get it out of my yard....

I would cut the cables at the backing plate and hope that works as a starter, Dont really know where to go after that.

If the e-brake pedal releases then climb under the truck and see if there is still tension on any of the e-brake cables. If there's no tension on them then good luck, but if there is still tension it shouldn't be too hard to figure out where the problem is and correct it.

that would make a good work truck and hauler. what are you going to use for 4x4ing on trails?

That's exactly the reason having a 4x4 around here is pointless. It snows 1 or 2 times a year. And there are no trails around here that are legal, without driving 100 miles or so. I can't afford to have both a hauler and 4x4, so I'd rather have a truck I can drive on road trips and stuff.

This thing is nice, interior is complete, everything works, one tiny rust spot on the driver cab corner.

In my opinion, this truck is worth way more than the K5 I had. The K5 needed a motor, gears, and a bunch of other little things for it to be street/trail worthy. I just didn't have the time or cash to make it happen.

Anyway, I figured out the e-brake issue. All I had to do was pull the other side cable. The bracket that mounts it broke, so when the lever is pulled, it only pulls the one cable, not the other. Tried putting this in the garage tonight. Fits fine, buuttt I forgot about the camper shell and BOOM, I hit the garage with it.

Today I'll be taking the camper shell off, and taking it to have it saftey inspected.

It's very clean. Just had it safety inspected and it needs exhaust. Manifolds have the AIR system and aren't hooked up. And smog pump is not connected. So it failed and now all my money will be gone.

end of the world because it's a 2wd truck???... OMG !!! :eek1:
WHAT HAS THE HUMAN RACE COME TO, TO WANT TO DRIVE A 2 WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE !!!

:D

I know, I'm crazy right?

Thats the one thing I like about the county I live in. Dont have to worry about the smog stuff.

I don't have to worry about the smog stuff, because in the state of MO, it doesn't matter unless it's a '96 and up. But for safety inspection, if there is a part that is supposed to function, it must be either functioning properly or removed. I argued with the guy for awhile about it, and he basically said, if you go home, take the smog pump completely off, and replace the manifolds with non-AIR manis or headers, then it would pass.

But either way, I have to pay to have an entire new exhaust system. :(

Oh, and is it typical for these duallies to have a D70 rear axle under them? The mechanic that did the safety inspection swears that's what it is...

Yeah mine has a d70

What year is it?

All Duallies had Dana 70's unless it was a Cab and chassis then it got 14-bolt

Remove the smog pump and get some pipe plugs to put in the holes where the Air tubes connect to the manifolds

I thought the mirrors were strange too. Look like the same mirrors on my K5 but longer. Almost like factory tow mirrors. They suck because when you slam the door, the fold themselves in.

I already took care of the smog pump issue, pulled that off and tossed it in the dumpster. Got the squeaky belt problem resolved at the same time. Now I have to just clean up all this power steering fluid so the shop believes I don't have a P/S leak.

It still feels like one of my drum brakes is stuck, but I can't tell for sure. Don't really wanna go through taking the rear tires off to find out either...
