Trailer harness wiring help please

Im putting a 4-flat wiring harness coupling on my vehicle and dont have a trailer to test, the 4-flat has a white, brown, green and yellow wires.. what do they go to, i assume white is ground... HELP Im leaving to pick up a boat in the morning.. thanks... which color is left / right turn, brake ,running lights

Go buy one of the adapter plugs from the local auto store. $15, and you will save yourself and any PO wiring headaches, and time. It's foolproof, and besides soldering and sealing wire splices if you went that route, the right way to do it. It just plugs right into your tail light wiring harness. I'm pretty sure '83 was using weatherpack connectors at that time, as I think thats all the adapter "t's" fit.

Why insist on counting when the ring gear has the tooth counts stamped in?
