Can-O-Worms question - Is there a torque sequence/procedure for trailer wheel bearings? I'm just looking to make sure the nuts / bearings aren't loose.

8 lug 7k axles with electric brakes and EZ Lube (grease fitting in dust cap) hubs, I don't know the brand.

My trailer is 10 yrs old but it only has maybe 4000 miles on it. Since it goes long periods between use I always try to grease it before use. Any reason to disassemble and manually repack the bearings or just keep squirting it in there?

Note: I am NOT having any issues and when pulling loaded the hubs do not seem to get hotter than "very warm" (probably approaching the point where you would not grab and hold it but not hot enough to burn a bare hand).

I would pull them apart just for piece of mind...I did mine on my 12K trailer with those greaseable hubs, and the hubs were pretty full, but there was milky grease in there as well, I figured some moisture was getting in. The bearings and races looked great, and felt smooth, so I just cleaned everything out and put in new seals and used a grease press to fill the bearings.
as far as tightening them, I spin the tire and tighten the nut while the tire is spinning, until snug then back off until I just start to feel a bit of clearance (or play) in the bearing, then find the closest cotter pin hole...after the cotter pin is in place spin again then check for clearance by rocking the top and bottom of the tire for a "feel of freeplay" or clearance.

Tires would be a bigger concern, hope you've replaced them and make sure you have a spare.
