Tranny cooler

Im getting ready to rebuild my motor and it will have a good amount more hp an tq and i was wondering if i need to get a aftermarket trans cooler and if i do do i need to use the aftermarkt one and the stock one i already have.

Not as expensive as a fried tranny!! Just ordered a B&M one with a fan from summit. Keeps it below 160 supposedly! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
 
Run it in series with the stock cooler. Normally you would run thru the aux cooler first then the radiator cooler. Some go the other way. Get the B&M crossflow type.
 
If you don't run through the factory cooler you will cook the tranny in the summer and run it too cold in the winter. It needs to go through the factory cooler either before or after the aux. cooler.

From this reply I was going to bet you did not run it through both coolers.
 
I should have clarified that statement. Not if you have a factory external cooler. My mistake /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif!
