I use regular atf fluid in a 700r and do I use trhe same for the np241? Or is there something different for that?

depending on year, that is the recommended fluid for newer model trucks.basically anything after the 80's was atf to help milage and the internal pumps on the gearboxes.anything newer than 75 is late model to me.ive only owned 3 vehicles newer than that.haha

I searched on google and came up with ATF Dexron II,III,or Mercon. Is that just a type of atf fluid? I don't know much about it

atf dexron 3 is standard transmission fluid.you can get it at any parts store or most gas stations.you need 3 to 4 quarts to fully fill it back up.

The reason why you use the same fluid for both is because they can cross talk with eachother if the seals leak. You'll be fine with Dextron III in both.

that number at the end of the Dexron is just a revision number, they keep making newer versions of the stuff, i believe it's alljust called "Mercon" now.

good luck finding Dexron/Mercon I, II, or III :p:
