i have a sm465 trans and a 208 case, i took them apart and its not what i thought...what year was the 465 that the shaft in the rear was long and went right through the adapter to connect the case...no sleave like the 465/205 combo....... i origionally took it apart for the adapter and the sleave...but no such luck , are they all like that..?

I think you may be looking for a 10 spline 465, and the one without the sleeve is a 32 spline? Not sure on the years of production.

i have the 465/205 in my truck and seen mine has the sleeve inside..i thought they all had a sleeve..

I think only the 10 spline 465s use a sleeve. The 32 spline use a long female imput on the tcase. I know on the later round pattern 465/205 combos the 205 used the same long input as the round pattern 400/205 setup. I have never worked on the 465s myself, so this info is not from experience, if I am wrong, someone please correct me.

What parts are you in need of? Someone here may be able to help you out.

465/205 10 spline actually went through to 1984 . Than in 1985 through 1991 the 465/205 ( round pattern adapter to case ) had no coupler and used the same 465 output shaft as the 1981 to 1991 465/208 combo but with the longer 32 spline female input on the round patter 205.

Basically it goes like this :
465/205 from 1968 ~ 1984 are all 10 spline with coupler

465/208 - 241 from 1981 ~ 1991 are all long shaft 32 spline

465-205 from 1985 ~ 1991 are all long shaft 32 spline witha long input 32 female input on the 205.
