Transfer Case 101 for a newbie

So Gilbert Arizona.
Do you see a blazer chalet running around there?
I sold it to a guy going to Arizona and after owning it for a couple of years he sold it to a guy in Gilbert

Yeah you need to adjust the rods.
When it's in neutral it's not aligned right which is why you can't get it in all five positions.
Too bad I don't have a 203 anymore to show you how to do it.
All I can do is try to walk you or talk you through it.

Shi&, I wish you were is AZ. I have to figure out how to adjust the linkage. I havent found a good enough source on how. I dont even know when my Tcase is in neutral. Which from what I gather Neutral is the starting point.

Having the linkage parallel to each should be neutral. The shifter doesnt feel right either, again no frame of reference.
Im kinda working blind here.

Thanks for hanging with this thread. It aint over yet hahahahahahahhahahah

Once I change the shifter maybe we can FaceTime
or something. Instead posting here. If you’re comfortable with that.

The only blazers I see are beat up ones and a couple nice ones from the 80’s and one cleeeeean 72 lifted blue one. Not many round eyes.

If this is Neutral, then...

From neutral how many detents going towards the dash? and from Neutral how many detents going towards the rear? Assuming or matter of fact the linkage like in the picture is Neutral.

In my mind it should be Neutral, then 2 detents towards the dash. Neutral, then 2 detents pulling towards the driver. So if I start with the shifter all towards the driver, I should get 4 more detents and 5 would be the position I start in.

On mine when my linkage is lined up, parallel to each other. I get 2 detents towards the dash and from neutral towards the driver seat I get 1 using the shifter.

Its stuck now. Wont even shift towards the dash. Tried moving drive shafts, nothing...

So you see on the rods, you have a nut on either side of the sleeve attached to the brackets.
You loosen one and tighten the other to lengthen or shorten the rod.

Yup.. i went ahead and ordered the ORD twin stick. What are credits cards for, right?

It’s the shifter. I unhooked the linkage and the shifter wont move. I’m taking it off tonight after my oldest sons football practice. Once I get the ORD twin stick, we can mess with adjusting the linkage.
