I have a np203 should i try and find a 205 a 208 or should i do the conversion to make it optional 4x4 or just leave it. Also i have a turbo 350 should i upgrade to the 400 or the 700r4 or can you beef up the 350 for a decent price

Thanks

what engine and output are you running, and what are your plans for the truck?

im planning to eventually have around 400 horse and 450 tourque and used mostly for bogging but some crawling too

If you are really going to crawl, youll want a doubler. The th400 or the th350 will thank you for it.....

Im on my 3rd th350. The first one was the trans that came in my 77 jimmy when i bought, so who knows the condition of it, but I broke a low reverse sprag ( i think thats what its called lol) The second one i burned up trying to crawl with just a 205.

That being said, This time around i have an external cooler, with an electric fan, and im going to put a temp gauge on it. I think if you keep the neutral drops to a minimum, watch the heat, and keep the water out of it, it could last.

Thats a decent amount of output, If you have a T400/203 combo, your on your way to a doubler combo already. Like mentioned, if you want to "crawl" you'll want 4:1 or so in the t/c combo. It isn't a bolt in, but there is a lot of info on here about putting one together.
Personally I'm going the T400/203/205 combo with 32 spline outputs front and rear and 1410's at the each end of the driveshafts. With what I do, I think I will want all 3 options for t/c reduction.
