Has there been a discussion about IDing tc's? Pictures? I have an '83 1/2 ton Chev. I guess it has a 208. Just out a deposit on a '86(?) 3500 single rear wheel 6.2 pu. It has a TH400, and an iron "monster" tc. I also recently bought the 3/4 ton axles off of a '77 'Burban. In the truck were two extra iron tc's. I've thought of buying a 700R4 with the modified output shaft to work with the iron t-case. 4.10 gears, O/D trans and life is good! :cool1:

if it is stock chevy 86 "iron" case it should be a 205. the 205 & 203 were used by chevy, the 205 is smaller of the 2 it is gear driven, it has an output & 2 other plates on the rear. the 203 is chain driven & has a large alum housing on the rear. it has only one other plate on the back of it, it is also full time 4wd.

u should search the members pic galleries for the t-case u want to see, there are pictures of them there. also try a normal search in the forum & the garage, this stuff has been covered many times so u should be able to find a ton of info on it.
