Transfercase drop and distributor question.

I need to pull my distributor so i can reseal my intake manifold, but my transfercase is dropped and that puts my dist. really close to the firewall. My question is has anyone pulled their dist. with the t/case dropped or do i need to raise it back up to get it out?
