Transmission cooling.

You'll be able to get it without plumbing through the rad if you don't want to. Going through the rad would solve it but sometimes you just can't. There is no reason not to either go for a much bigger cooler, or run two coolers, or even three. Depending on what you want to do, you could get a bigger cooler or add another one. Getting a smaller second cooler with its corresponding fan and mounting it under the truck is an option as well.
I was thinking about adding another, but it wouldn't hurt to have my radiator cleaned and gone through to try that first.

I forgot to add, I do have a deep aluminum pan as well.

Wes Harden: The transmission pan in the pic, so is there a shelf in the pan so the fluid can't get to the round tubes or does the fluid go around them and the airflow cools the fluid? I haven't seen a pan like that before.

The tubes run @ 1/4" off the bottom of pan. Fluid surrounds the tubes.
Works very well over 40mph, not so good at low speed.

I might have drive shaft clearance problems. Have had a front shaft in the truck with that pan. Not sure am hoping not
